Guide to writing your Profile
Writing about yourself can sometime be difficult. How you describe yourself is how other people will see your personality and achievements. While a picture paints a thousand words, it can hide just as many.
- The first thing to remember when writing your profile is to be truthful, don't lie about anything as you could be misleading your potential new companion and wasting the time of both of you.
- Everybody has some sort of baggage from their past, just leave it there for the time being. Sooner or later you will talk about it, but don't immediately burden every new budding relationship with it.
- Make sure you read everything that you have written, and that each sentence makes sense. Do use spell check at the end before posting on the web or emailing your profile to someone.
- Don't make your descriptions and details about yourself too long as other people may lose interest.
- Be honest about your likes and dislikes and remember not to be negative or derogatory of the opposite sex.
- Wait until you are embarking on a new relationship before going into the history of your past relationships.
- To lighten the mood of your profile you could add quotes, poems or affirmations to make your profile more enjoyable to read.
- Only join dating agencies if you are serious about wanting a new relationship, that way you will not be wasting other people's time who are serious in wanting a relationship.
- Not every person you meet will ignite your chemistry, so don't lose faith, just keep trying, because when the time is right that special person will appear.
Be sure that it is a recent photo, and that it flatters your best facial
features. It is a good idea to get a professional sitting, but make sure that
the result is not misleading ( photoshopped ).
When choosing a photograph, take some of the details listed into consideration.
If you are a woman, have your hair styled, and your make-up done.
Make sure your facial features are clear, and people can see your eyes, don't
hide behind sunglasses, scarves, or a hat.
Don't have things in the photo that will take the focus off you.
Dress up in clothes that flatters your body, and that are not too revealing, so
that breasts or hairy chest do not draw too much attention to themselves.
